Dr. Kathleen Charters memorial

A memorial for Dr. Kathleen Charters will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church in Sequim, Washington, on April 26, 2025, at 1 p.m.

Kathleen served in the U.S. Public Health Service as an ensign and lieutenant (j.g.), and in the U.S. Navy as a lieutenant, lieutenant commander, and commander. Her duty stations ranged from Bremerton, Washington, to San Diego, California, to Yokosuka, Japan, to Bethesda, Maryland. She served on the staff of the Secretary of Defense, was a professor at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, and was an ordained deacon in the United Methodist Church. She introduced BCLS and ACLS (cardiac life support) to emergency services in Japan, and was a pioneer in computer health records and in patient health portals.
