The mausoleum on Moot Hill on the grounds of Scone Palace, Perth. Though called a "chapel," it really is a mausoleum. Moot Hill, itself, was allegedly built from dirt poured out of the boots of nobles showing their allegiance to the Scottish kings as they went through their coronation on Moot Hill. Moot Hill also was the home of the Stone of Scone, used as the king's seat during coronations for a thousand years. © 2004 Lawrence I. Charters |
