Eisenhower's hospital room. This room is radically changed from Eisenhower's time. The floor originally had tile, and a hospital bed was located where the couch is currently sitting. There were originally very small windows on either side of the bed; sometime in the 1950s the windows were enlarged to their current size.

This photo was taken from the entrance to the suite's restroom. An obscure Army tradition holds that line officers who sit on "Eisenhower's throne" have a better chance of making general. Virtually all the Army line officers at the party made discrete visits to the restroom.
