This painting of Winston Churchill was done by Eisenhower during one of his stays at the hospital. Eisenhower gave the painting (this is a reproduction) to Churchill when Churchill came to visit Eisenhower at the hospital. Eisenhower, in an impish mood, did not tell Churchill who had painted it, and asked him what he thought of it. Churchill responded that it had "obviously been painted by an amateur," to the great amusement of the president.
