Scone has a history that stretches back two thousand years, when it was used as a Roman encampment. 1500 years ago Scone was the capital of the Pictish kingdom in Scotland. For several centuries, Scone has been the home of the Earls of Mansfield. Scone Palace itself dates back in part to the 12th century, though much of the current structure was completed in 1802. © 2004 Lawrence I. Charters |
