Pont Neuf (New Bridge) is actually the oldest bridge in Paris, the first one made of dressed stone and the first bridge built without shacks or houses on it. The relatively wide bridge, especially in medieval times, made it the perfect place for meetings, riots, duels, and other community activities. Note the large Ns on the side of the bridge. © 2005 Lykara I. Charters
