One of the great buildings of Washington: the Navy Building. An expanding bureaucracy resulted in a coup de main and takeover by the White House, which named it the Executive Office Building. Then, after another building was constructed, it became the Old Executive Office Building. Still later, the building was named after an Army officer: the Eisenhower Executive Office Building. Oh, the shame, the shame.
